About the standard of blue light

In the European Union, the IEC62471:2006&EN62471:2008 "Photobiosafety of Lamps and Lamp Systems" standard covering the CE Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC has been implemented since 2009.09.01, completely replacing the energy of LED products in the IEC/EN60825 standard. The grade requirements increase the photobiological requirements, including radiation intensity, radiance, etc., and classify the product based on test data, including exemption levels, low hazard, medium hazard, and high hazard levels. For all LED lights, risk level assessment is required according to IEC/EN62471 photobiosafety standards, and retinal blue light hazard and retinal blue light hazard (small light source) are the test objects. In addition, regarding the Retinal blue light hazard of the retina, the general standard of the new luminaire "General Requirements and Tests for Luminaires - Part 1" is introduced in IEC 60598-1:2014. IEC/TR 62778 :2012 "Photobiosafety of Light Sources and Luminaires" Blu-ray Damage Assessment Application, specifically for retinal blue light hazards:

1) When tested in accordance with IEC/TR 62778 at a distance of 200 mm, the blue light hazard of Class 0 hazard (RG0) and Class 1 hazard (RG1) LED light source lamps is not applicable;

2) Mobile luminaires and hand-held luminaires exceeding Category 1 hazard (RG1) need to be marked with the “Do not stare at light source” sign;

3) Children's lamps and nightlights Blu-ray hazard should not exceed Category 1 hazard (RG1), and the test distance is RG0 or RG1 is 20 cm.

Summary: An easy-to-understand description of RG0 (Blu-ray Exemption Level) can be used for indoor lighting products, including children's lighting. RG1 level products must have the "Do not stare at light source" sign. In other words, the home lighting products of the regular manufacturers that you purchase are usually RG0-level products, and the blue light is controlled to a certain extent without causing damage to the eyes.

It is recommended to purchase brands that have passed the national quality certification. There are brands such as Foshan Lighting, Midea, Op, NVC, etc. that can be purchased with confidence. The international brands include Philips and Panasonic. Their Blu-ray control is mainly reflected in whether the LED products used are in compliance with the RG0 level, and the products of the various LED chip manufacturers are almost the same as long as they are RG0 certified. Miscellaneous cards are not recommended for purchase, and the chips used are not guaranteed.

Effect of color temperature on blue light

In 2014, the Nobel Prize in Physics awarded the Japanese scientists Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and the Japanese-American scientist Shuji Nakamura of the University of California, Santa Barbara, in recognition of their invention. The contribution of new energy-efficient light sources, namely blue light-emitting diodes (LEDs), opens up new possibilities for energy savings.

The blue light illuminates the world, and the appearance of the official blue light makes the LED shine white! That is, white light is inseparable from blue light.

Home lighting LED color temperature is mainly between 3000K and 6500K. 3000K is yellow light, 6500K is white light, and usually 4000K to 5000K is neutral light.

Take a domestic eye protection table lamp as an example, the table lamp has a color temperature of 3000K, 4000K, 6000K.

The blue color value of 3000K color temperature is obviously lower; the blue light value is the highest when 6000K; because the color temperature of 4000K is mixed and brightened by the lamp of 3000K and 6000K, it is not the wick of 4000K color temperature, so the test result is close to 6000K. In fact, the 4000K color temperature wick is used alone, and the blue light value will be between 3000K and 6000K. Summary: The level of blue light depends on the color temperature. Ambient lighting is recommended to use a color temperature of 5000K. 

About continuous spectrum

Needless to say, it is not a continuous spectrum, technical limitations. But I didn’t find anyone who watched the LED TV and watched the mobile phone.

Color development

The higher the color, of course, the better, what will happen to the LED with color difference? My friend sent me a photo. The family shot under the lamp and all became Avatar. Of course this may be caused by the camera's white balance, but this is also caused by the white balance error caused by the light.

How to judge whether the color of the lamp is high or low?
The higher the color, the lower the value of the luminous flux, in other words, the exchange of luminous flux for color enhancement. The color is greater than 80, which is a good light.

Since I am just an ordinary consumer, I have experienced this long-term hearsay and said that I have to disassemble myself, to find the manufacturer to understand, to give a small purchase proposal, first, the international big-name wick parameters are very high, the international brand of lamps and There is not much difference between domestic big-name lamps, mainly depending on the wick.
