Cree Announces Breakthrough of High Power LED Light Efficiency 200m/W
April 04, 2023
Cree, the leader in the LED lighting market, once again announces the industry's highest level of LED light efficiency recording, with white light high power LED light efficiency achieving 208 lm/W. This research and development result is an important milestone in the solid-state lighting industry and is the embodiment of Cree's unremitting pursuit of LED lighting performance.
Cree's test results show that a light effect of 208 lm/W is achieved when the correlated color temperature is 4579K. The LED efficacy test was conducted under standard conditions at room temperature with a drive current of 350 mA.
"We have now exceeded the barrier of 200Lm/W, a single-chip high-power white LED." John Edmond said. “This is the result of improved blue light output power, lowering the operating voltage to achieve higher conversion efficiency. We will continue to promote white LED technology to enable white lighting products in the market to continue to achieve higher light efficiency.”
Although this level of performance LEDs are currently not in volume production at Cree, Cree's high-performance LED series continues to maintain its position as an industry leader. (Compile: Looking up at the stars)
