Cree Introduces XLamp MK-R LED Light Efficiency up to 200lm/W
July 31, 2023
After two years of breakthrough in the laboratory's light efficiency of 200 lm/W, Cree has finally produced the series of LED chips with 200 lumens per watt at the end of 2012, and officially launched the leading market XLamp MK- R LED. This series of LEDs is based on the next-generation technology platform SC3. The new XLamp MK-R LEDs provide up to 200 lm/W luminous efficiency at 1W and 25°C.
The new XLamp MK-R LEDs make it possible to achieve system efficiencies of up to 100 lm/W for high lumen applications, suitable for both outdoor and indoor directional applications, including halogen replacement lamps and PAR lamp replacement. The XLamp MK-R LED provides EasyWhite color temperature binning for better color consistency with just one LED. For systems that use multiple LEDs, XLamp MK-R LEDs help luminaire manufacturers reduce system cost by enabling a smaller number of LEDs to achieve the same light output and light quality as current systems.
The XLamp MK-R LED package measures 7 mm x 7 mm and has a light source size of 6 mm and a light output of up to 1600 lm at 15 W and 85 °C. The XLamp MK-R LED offers 85°C characterization, 2,700 K - 7,000 K color temperature selection, and minimum color rendering index of 70, 80 and 90 (at selected color temperature conditions).
XLamp MK-R LED is the ninth product based on the Cree SC3 technology platform, which uses Cree's silicon carbide (SiC) technology to demonstrate superior performance in LED chip structure and fluorescence conversion. Built with the latest packaging technology that matches it.
According to the company, Cree XLamp MK-R LEDs are now ready for mass production according to standard delivery times.
