GT Solar receives Trina Solar's $23.8 million order

April 24, 2023

GT Solar has announced that it has received orders for two DSS450HPTM crystal ingot growth systems from Trina Solar Limited with a total value of $23.8 million. These orders will be included in GT Solar's current open orders for the third quarter of fiscal 2011 (as of January 1, 2011).

GT Solar President and CEO Tom Gutierrez said: "Tianhe Solar is one of the top 10 manufacturers of photovoltaic cells and components. We are very pleased that they have chosen our DSS450HP system to meet their ingot growth and production needs. With proven performance and reliability, our crystal ingot growth systems provide value to customers and help PV manufacturers reduce their manufacturing costs."

The addition of the DSS450HP system will help Trina Solar achieve its goal of significantly expanding its production capacity. Since launching its first DSS240TM system in 2003, the company has delivered more than 2,000 systems (mainly for Asian manufacturers). The company has made significant investments in customer service resources to support its growing number of installed customers in the Asia Pacific region. With field-proven rapid commissioning that speeds up mass production, GT Solar's installation team can keep customers up and running.
