Designs that don’t contribute to society are bad design

I have a student Gu Weiwei. She is a deaf-mute person. She was a top ten teenager in Chengdu before she went to Tongji. Although she is a deaf-mute person, she does not speak mute and has lived the same life as a normal person. I read the teacher's lips in class, and usually rely on mobile phones to type and send messages to communicate with others. We can all imagine how many obstacles she will encounter in life and study: for example, I can't hear people calling her name, crossing the road and not hearing the car horn.

Under my guidance, I also found the help of the teacher of the voice office. She participated in a design competition and designed a device for deaf-mute people to convert the specific voice signal into a light signal, such as her name. "Gu Weiwei", after the device is identified, a specific light signal will be illuminated to let her know that someone is calling her name.

And this device is very light and easy to wear.

In my opinion, this is a very small design, but it is also a great design.
