According to the official introduction, this bulb is very energy efficient, although its power is only 9 watts, it can replace the traditional 40 watt incandescent lamp. It is reported that the life of this LED bulb can reach 25,000 hours, or it can be used for 22 years according to the daily use of 3 hours. The lamp emits 471 lumens (luminous flux units) and 3000 Kelvin white light. Its material is free of mercury and lead and is environmentally friendly.

General Electric said that this is the first time they have tried this form factor and power bulb. However, it is not an easy task for consumers to accept a $50 light bulb. Science and mathematics cannot be equated. Therefore, GE also gives an analysis and comparison of the two. They say that ordinary incandescent lamps have a lifespan of 1,000 hours, a lumen of less than 12 per watt, and cost $4.82 per year. This LED bulb has a life of 25,000 hours and emits 50 lumens per watt, costing only $1.08 a year.
