September LED Taiwan factory revenue increased output value over the years (Figure)

According to statistics from LEDinside, an industry research institute, the total revenue of LED manufacturers in Taiwan in September 2009 totaled 6.927 billion yuan, a 7.2% increase from the August revenue of 6.464 billion yuan (YoY+18.9%). Among them, LED chip factory's total revenue in September was 2.938 billion yuan, up 4.6% from the previous month; LED packaging manufacturers' revenue in September was 3.989 billion, up 9.2% from the previous month.

LEDinside observed the recent market conditions, part of the downstream packaging plant, although the September revenue continued to grow, but the traditional quarter of the fourth quarter, the visibility fell from the original 5-6 weeks to 3 to 4 weeks. Among them, the small and medium-sized mobile phone backlights will gradually decline with the arrival of mobile phone sales quarters. Brand mobile phone manufacturers have already shown signs of repairing the LED power supply, and the white-label mobile phone market still has demand, but Visibility is not high. In the middle of the large-scale panel backlight part, the panel factory in the fourth quarter also has the action of adjusting the LED inventory. As a result, the packaging plant's fourth quarter revenue growth momentum will slow down. As the upstream chip factory's blue capacity utilization rate continues to be fully loaded, some manufacturers' new MOCVD machines will be moved in the near future, so revenue for the fourth quarter is expected to continue to grow.

Observing the revenue of Taiwan's overall chip factory in September, the revenue in September was 2.938 billion yuan, up 4.6% from the previous month (MoM+4.6%, YoY +30.1%). In the case of upstream chips out of stock, upstream manufacturers with the ability to supply a large number of backlight applications, Crystal Power, Yuyuan, Guangzhou, Taigu and other companies in September continued to hit record highs.

As for the downstream LED package, the overall revenue in September was 3.989 billion (MoM +9.2%, YoY +11%). The output value of the packaging factory exceeded the same period last year. The packaging leader Yiguang's September revenue was about 1.17 billion yuan, a record high. Due to the large-size backlight demand, Dongbei continued its record high, with revenues reaching 462 million yuan (MoM +9.1%) in September. Hongqi, which has a higher proportion of white-label mobile phone applications, achieved revenue of 300 million yuan (MoM +14.7%) in September.
