In 2009, Shenzhen, China, organized the first LED streetlight test, jointly organized by Shenzhen Lighting Environmental Management Center, Shenzhen Science and Technology and Information Bureau, Shenzhen Electronic Product Quality Testing Center, and jointly announced in the second half of 2009. The final test result data.

In Shenzhen, the first LED street light test LED street light has a total of 51 companies to sign up, and finally 27 models of 27 companies participated in the test. As a comparison object, the 140WCosmoPlis (Philips warm white system), Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp, Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp three types of Philips street lights.

This LED street light test is divided into two parts: the laboratory and the pavement. The laboratory tests twice, with 2000 hours of continuous lighting, focusing on the optical properties and stability of the product. The road surface is tested three times, and the lights are normally turned on and off every day. The total lighting time is about 1200 hours, focusing on the actual lighting effect and environmental adaptability of the product.



LED street light test results

The industrial research institution LEDinside analyzes the test result data of the LED street light from the laboratory part, the pavement part, the laboratory and the road surface comparison respectively. The following is an analysis of some of the results of the LED street light laboratory, for reference only. (The decimal places in the data covered in this article are rounded off)

Part of the LED streetlight laboratory test involves 19 indicators: voltage, current, power factor, input power, correlated color temperature, color rendering index, total luminous flux, overall lighting efficiency, light decay, half-peak beam angle (light distribution curve) C0/180 plane), shape (light distribution curve C0/180 plane), relative reference axis (light distribution curve C0/180 plane), half-peak beam angle (light distribution curve C90/270 plane), relative reference axis (light distribution) Curve C90/270 plane), half-peak beam angle range-minimum (light distribution curve C90/270 plane), half-peak beam angle range-maximum (light distribution curve C90/271 plane), half-peak beam angle (meridian plane) ), peak intensity position r, shape (iso-illuminance curve).







1, voltage, current

The LED street lamp laboratory voltage is 225V standard voltage, and the average current of 27-inch LED street lamp is 0.6A, the highest is 0.87A, and the lowest is 0.43A. The average current is lower than the 0.7A of the Philips 140W warm white system and the current of the Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp, which is less than 0.9A of the Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp.

2, the actual input power

The average actual input power of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is 127W, the highest is 183W, and the lowest is 86W. Among them, 22 of the 100-150W accounted for 81%, 4 of 150W or more accounted for 15%, and 1 of 100W accounted for 4%. The LED street lights that most companies provide for testing are between 100W and 150W. For comparison, the Philips street lights have 155W, 179W and 117W respectively. LED street lights and Philips street lights have good comparability.

In the 27-inch LED street lamp, the input power deviation is the largest, and the actual input power is nearly 40% higher than the rated power.







3, power factor

The average power factor of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is 0.959, the highest is 0.998, and the lowest is 0.584. The power factor is less than 0.9, only 1 盏. If the 1 盏 is deducted, the remaining 26 盏 average power factor reaches 0.973. The average power factor is 0.959 less than 140W for CosmoPlis of 140W, and the LED streetlight has a power factor of 4盏 greater than 0.991 for 140WCosmoPlis. In addition to the lowest power factor of 0.584, the LED street light has better power factor than 0.906 for Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp and 0.921 for Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp. Compared with CosmoPlis and Philips high pressure sodium lamps, LED street lights have obvious advantages in terms of power factor.

4, the relevant color temperature

The average color temperature of the 27-inch LED street lamp in the laboratory is 6035k, the highest color temperature is 8325k, and the lowest color temperature is 4054k. The color temperature of the 27-inch LED street light is higher than the 2,772k of the 140WCosmoPlis, the 2061k of the Philips 150W high-pressure sodium lamp, and the 1923k of the Philips 100W high-pressure sodium lamp. The 27-inch LED street lamp has a color temperature range of 11% between 5500k and 6000k, and the color temperature of 5500k-6000k is the most widely used color temperature range.



Since the color temperature has only one data, there is no way to compare the difference between the initial color temperature of the LED street light in the laboratory and the color temperature of the final stage of the laboratory. The color temperature of the LED street lamp may change greatly with time, and thus the illumination effect is greatly offset. The uniformity of color temperature has not been measured in this evaluation, and the uniformity of color temperature will affect the overall lighting effect.

Because of the advantages and disadvantages of high and low color temperature, what color temperature is most suitable for road lighting, there is no special scientific saying, there has been a big controversy. Affected by traditional habits, the acceptance of the color temperature of LED street lamps still needs a process, and the color temperature needs further research.





5, color rendering index

The average color rendering index of the 27 street lamps in the laboratory is 72.6, the highest is 82.7, and the lowest is 66.3. In this test, 14-inch LED street light color rendering index accounted for 52% between 70-75. Similar to the color temperature, the color rendering index of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is also greater than 61.5 for 140WCosmoPlis, 19.6 for Philips 150W high-pressure sodium lamps, and 18.6 for Philips 100W high-pressure sodium lamps. The difference in color rendering index between CosmoPlis and Philips high pressure sodium lamps is very large.



The color rendering index refers to the ability to restore the original color of an object, with sunlight as a reference, and the color rendering index of daylight is 100. It is generally believed that the higher the color rendering index, the more comfortable it is, and the road lighting temporarily has no specific requirements for the color rendering index.

6, total luminous flux

The average luminous flux of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is 6840 lm, the highest is 10210 lm, and the lowest is 3298 lm. The total luminous flux of each LED street lamp has a large deviation, and there is no area that is too concentrated. The maximum luminous flux of the LED street light is 10210lm, which is less than the 13196lm of 140WCosmoPlis and the 12014lm of the Philips 150W high-pressure sodium lamp. The average luminous flux of 6840lm is higher than the 6369lm of the Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp.



The main road has higher requirements for total luminous flux, and the street lamps should be used on a large scale, and further improvement is required in the total luminous flux.





7, the entire lighting effect

The average light efficiency of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is 54.8Lm/W, the highest is 81.5Lm/W, and the lowest is 25.3Lm/W. The overall lighting effect of 16 street lights is below the average of 54.8Lm /W. The average luminous efficiency of 54.8Lm/W is significantly different from that of 140WCosmoPlis by 85.1Lm/W, which is also lower than the 67.3Lm/W of Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp, but higher than that of Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp of 54.4Lm/W. Among the 27-inch LED street lights, 20% of the total lighting efficiency is higher than 50Lm/W, and even the highest has reached 81.5Lm/W.



In the laboratory part of the 27-inch LED street light in the overall lighting effect, the overall performance is better. It has been reported that the light efficiency of Philips' best high-pressure sodium lamp street lamp has exceeded 140Lm/W, and the high-pressure sodium lighting effect selected in this test has a big gap.

8, light decay

In the laboratory, the average light decay of LED street lamps is 5.5%, the highest is 10.6%, and the lowest is 1.2%. The LED light with a total of 18 inches is less than the average light attenuation of 5.5%. The average light decay is less than 1.9% for 140W CosmoPlis and 5.1% for Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamps, which is better than 5.6% for Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamps. The average light decay is very similar to the 140W and 100W Philips high pressure sodium lamps.



The effect of light decay on LED street lights is greater than that of traditional street lights, and overall improvements are needed.





9, light distribution curve - half-peak beam angle, relative reference axis, shape

The data related to the light distribution curve are as follows:



The half-peak beam angle of the 27-inch LED street light on the C0/180 plane is 126 ???, the highest is 146 ???, and the minimum is 100 ???. In the C0/180 plane, the half-beam beam angle is generally considered to be greater than 120 ??? better. In this test, the LED street light of more than 120 ??? in C0/180 has 18 盏 67%. The average half-peak beam angle of 126 ??? is less than 140 Å of 140 WCosmoPlis and 135 Å of Philips 150 W high pressure sodium lamp, which is higher than that of Philips 100 W high pressure sodium lamp.



In the C90/270 plane, the average half-beam angle of the 27-inch LED street light is 70 ???, the highest is 119 ???, and the lowest is 36 ???. In the C90/270 plane, the half-beam beam angle is generally considered to be greater than 60 ??? preferably, the LED street lamp with more than 60 ??? in this test in C90/270 has 15% of 56%. The average half-beam beam angle in the C90/270 plane is higher than that of CosmoPlis and high pressure sodium lamps of 55 ???, 49 ???, 52 ???.



In the C0/180 plane, the relative reference axis of the 27-inch LED street light is only 1 盏 asymmetric, 26 盏 is symmetrical, and the comparative CosmoPlis and Philips high-pressure sodium lamps are also symmetric in the C0/180 plane.

In the C90/270 plane, 27 盏 LED street lights have a relative reference axis of 19 盏 which is symmetrical 70%, and 8 盏 is asymmetric 30%. As a comparison, CosmoPlis and Philips high-pressure sodium lamps are asymmetric in the C90/270 plane and the absolute value of the minimum value of the half-peak beam angle is much smaller than the maximum value. It is generally considered that the C90/270 plane is asymmetrical.





Light distribution curve-shape (C0/180 plane)

In the C0/180 plane 27 盏 LED street light distribution curve shape distribution bat wing shape 11 盏 accounted for about 40%, close to bat wing shape and non-bat wing shape each have 8 盏 each accounted for about 30%. It is generally believed that the batwing shape of the light distribution curve is easier to obtain a better light distribution effect, but this effect is not reflected in this test. The batwing LED street light has two half-beam beam angles and two relative reference axes. There is no significant difference between the indicator and other shape LED street lights. The difference is that the peak light intensity position bat wing shape average is 52 ??? close to the bat wing shape average 56 ???, instead of the bat wing type LED road light is strong The average value of the location is 19 ???.



10, peak light intensity position

The average value of the peak light intensity of the 27-inch LED street light in the laboratory is 44 ???, the maximum is 67 ???, and the minimum is 0 ???. Among them, 9盏 accounted for 33% between 55?-65??? recommended by the US Department of Energy. As the comparison of the Philips Street Light 140WCosmoPlis peak intensity position 69???, Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp peak intensity position 36???, Philips 100W high pressure sodium lamp peak intensity position 51???, are not recommended by the US Department of Energy Within 55???-65???.



11. Shape-equal illumination curve

The iso-illuminance curve shape of the 27-inch LED street lamp in the laboratory has 6 shapes, including 30% rectangle, 22% ellipse, 15% round, 15% round-elliptical, 11% elliptical-rectangle, and round-rectangle. 7%. The illuminance curves of the Philips street lamps as comparison objects are all circular-elliptical. In the evaluation of this type of LED street light with different illuminance curves, there is no obvious difference in effect.







12. Overall evaluation

If only considering the whole lighting effect and light decay, the overall best performance is the Philips warm white system 140WCosmoPlis, 27 盏 LED street light overall performance is better than Philips 150W high pressure sodium lamp, 8 盏 30%, respectively belong to Shenzhen Huiye Jinguang, Shanghai Caihuang Division, Shenzhen Century Jingyuan, Shenzhen Sangda Industry, Shenzhen Haoyu Light, Ningbo Shuyuan Lighting, Yixing Hongli, Shenzhen Deshida. The overall performance of the 27-inch LED street light is better than that of the Philips 100W high-pressure sodium lamp, which accounts for 70%.

LEDinside pointed out that from this laboratory test, it can be seen that the LED street light with better overall light efficiency and light decay in 27-inch LED street light has better performance on other indicators. Compared with the Philips high-pressure sodium lamp street lamp, the 27-inch LED street lamp has better overall performance and better substitutability.

The LED street lamp test results only reflect the performance of the test street lamps, and each company only has one model of LED street lamps to participate in the test. At the same time, there is still a certain gap between the LED street lamps in the experimental stage and the mass production, so the test results are not representative. The actual LED street light level of each LED street light enterprise. However, from this test, we can better see the general technical level of China's LED street lamps in March 2009.
