TCL joins Taiwan factory Hongqi joint venture 200 million to build LED packaging factory

[High-tech LED News] TCL Group officially signed a joint venture with Taiwan's Hongchao subsidiary Harvatck (HongKong) Limited to build TCL Hongqi Technology (Huizhou) Co., Ltd. on the afternoon of June 24, the registered capital of the joint venture company is 200 million yuan. The two parties will jointly contribute 50% of the cash in cash, and will mainly engage in R&D, manufacturing and sales of LED device packaging products.

TCL Group will provide existing workshops for renovation and use. Taiwan Hongqi provides advanced manufacturing equipment. After the project's production capacity is reached, it can produce 2 billion pieces of LED device packaging products annually, with a planned output value of 1.3 billion yuan. The production date of the latter part of the project (testing and packaging) is expected to be December 2011, and the full-process production date is expected to be in late March 2012.

Li Dongsheng, chairman of TCL Group, said that this cooperation with Hongqi Technology will enable TCL to have quality and cost leadership in LED key chips. At this time, the layout of the LED industry has important strategic significance for optimizing and adjusting the TCL industrial structure, improving the layout of the LCD industry, and building the entire industrial chain.

It is understood that this year, the TCL LCD industry layout and the vertical integration of the industrial chain have accelerated significantly. The Inner Mongolia LCD TV production base announced recently is under construction. The well-received 8.5-generation LCD panel project Shenzhen Huaxing Optoelectronics Project is progressing smoothly. The trial is about to start in the month. The LED packaging project will further enhance TCL's core competitiveness in the LCD TV vertical industry chain and will play an active synergy.
